Olive & Ember: online ordering for a restaurant

A restaurant website with a menu that sells: add dishes, choose delivery or pickup, pay, and follow the order live.

A concept project with an invented business: no client results are claimed.

Challenge

Restaurants pay heavy commission to delivery platforms and lose the customer relationship. Their own site has to be as quick to order from as an app, on a phone, with one hand.

Solution

A menu by section with one-tap add and quantity controls, a cart that stays in reach, delivery or pickup with fees shown up front, and a live tracker after checkout. In a real project it takes card payments, sends orders to the kitchen screen, and keeps customer details for repeat orders and offers.

Process

Try it: add a few dishes, open the order, switch to pickup, and pay to watch the tracker move. No card is taken.
